Raw Artist Showcase SF 2017

I woke up at 7 am on Wednesday January 11th with little sleep, since I just couldn't contain my excitement for the showcase later that day.

I was actually quite nervous because all I had experience with RAW was a Raw Artist showcase five years ago in San Jose, and that was not a happy memory. It was disorganized and I swore I would never do one again! However, when the San Francisco Raw Artist Showcase contacted me again this year, I just a had a good gut feeling about it.

The sun was shining in Santa Rosa as I packed my little SUV with garment bags full of my babies, clothing racks, lights, a display table, etc. you name it! I had a mission and that was to kick butt... well not literally, but you know what I mean. I wanted to make a lasting impression.  Pretty much had to be on my A game. Once I got my favorite Pandora radio station playing, which is a mix of Gwen Stefani, I was ready to hit the road. It remarkably only took me an hour to get from Santa Rosa to the city! I slowly unloaded my car and powered up the stairs to the second level "gold room" at 1015 Folsom. Everyone was quiet and I finally felt relaxed because I could see myself in these other artists. We were all determined to make our booths look perfect. Most importantly, we wanted to sell our works of art that we spent months making. Once my booth looked ready to go, I got ready in time to help my models change into their looks from my Fall / Winter 2017 collection.

My girl squad, Ale, Maddy, Andrea and Nancy blew me away! All so beautifully unique and women that are girlbosses themselves. Without them mingling with the crowd of 1000 people and handing out my business cards, I think I would've had a different turnout at my booth. So I am truly thankful for these ladies helping make it a memorable night.

If I didn't think it could get any better, it did! My whole family showed up. Their love and support could be felt from across the room. The greatest feeling in the world!

Thank you Raw Artist SF for restoring my faith in RAW. I had a very successful evening and I thank you, my girl squad, family and friends for giving me this wonderful opportunity. I hope to see you next year!

Warm wishes,

Nikki Marie
