My Top 7 Tips For Staying Motivated

Hello beautiful and happy first Monday of 2017! I don't know about you, but I feel extremely excited to accomplish some big goals this year and I hope you are too after reading my easy motivational tips.

Now get a pen and paper because you're about to get MOTIVATED to follow my simple steps. I believe you can accomplish some major goals this year. You will be amazed how small forward actions each day will get you closer to success.

How I stay motivated:

1. Write a goal list for the next day the night before.

I like lists because my anxious mind seems to be more focused when I wake up in the morning and have a plan for the day. I organize the task list from priority or time sensitive to needs to get done this week. I started using the dropbox paper app and it's flippin' amazing! You can even make yourself giggle with the ability to put fun emojis and pictures for reference. I love creating the task list and being able to check off my list. It's a wonderful feeling. Just wonderful!!!

2. Go to sleep early and wake up early. You seriously get more done.

I try to start getting ready for bed at 9pm and then shut eye by 10:30pm. I will set my alarm for 6:30am, but let's be honest, usually I hit the snooze button enough times to know that 7am is really my wakeup time.

3.Exercise and eat healthy. Those endorphins do magical things.

I always start the morning off right with a 30 minute workout and a nice healthy breakfast. Those magical endorphins keep me focused and confident all day. As a business owner, you need to always be on your game.

4. Be thankful for what you accomplish each day.

Just stop and close your eyes for a minute. Think about all that you have currently and thank the universe for what you were able to accomplish today. Gratitude = happiness.

5. Remember, success doesn't happen over night.

It's a hard pill to swallow, but no you can't make it as a fashion designer overnight like how you can get lots of "likes" on an instagram photo. It's a slow climb and you face a lot of mistakes along the way. However, what I believe is that hard work does pay off after many years of 16 hour days and working on the weekends. You gotta put in the time to collect the prize.

6. Surround yourself with people who strive to be the best versions of themselves. You will learn from them.

I have only done this for four years and surprisingly I'm still positive after encountering some designer sour grapes along the way. I once did a shopping event that literally made me cringe by how negative these artists were complaining about themselves. Hello! If you can't believe in yourself, no one will take you seriously. Luckily, my family of business owners have taught me to work hard, be kind and never give up. I guess that's the Greek girl in me.

7. Smile and have fun along the way!

The best thing I ever did was to stop beating myself up when I made a mistake. Hello! (I apparently like to say hello a lot) You learn from mistakes and I have become a stronger designer because of all my silly blunders.

One last thought... I believe you can do great things!

The universe is beyond big enough for you and anyone to have what you've always wanted. Be kind and stay motivated!

xoxo
